Your Role:
As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and professionalizing Hadrian’s finance function, ensuring we are fully equipped to scale alongside the rest of the organization. You will drive process improvements and ensure compliance across our operations in the EU and UK. This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of key financial processes in a fast-growing SaaS environment.
What you will do as a Financial Controller at Hadrian:
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with EU and UK accounting standards
- Collaborate with finance leadership to provide accurate financial data, analysis, and reports for board presentations and other stakeholder reporting
- Comply with EU and UK-specific reporting requirements and tax filings
- Prepare for and manage external audits in EU and UK jurisdictions
Internal Controls and Processes:
- Implement robust internal controls tailored to EU and UK regulations to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Continuously improve accounting processes to comply with European and UK standards, generate efficiencies, and develop stronger controls
Tax Planning and Compliance:
- Oversee tax compliance and filing for both the Netherlands and the UK
- Coordinate with advisors to develop tax strategies that optimize the company’s tax position within the EU and UK frameworks
Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow to maintain liquidity across different currencies and entities
- Oversee AP/AR processes to ensure timely invoicing and collections, as well as efficient payment of liabilities, while managing currency exchange and cross-border transactions
Payroll Management:
- Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing in accordance with Dutch and UK employment laws and regulations
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration ensures fairness and accuracy, considering local regulations
Technology and Systems:
- Ensure the effective use of accounting software that supports multi-entity reporting and compliance with EU and UK standards
- Maintain data integrity within financial systems
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Ensure accurate financial data and reports are available for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, collaborating with FP&A to provide key insights into financial performance
- Assist in cost allocation, cash flow management, and scenario analysis by providing accurate financial records and implementing efficient financial controls
You are fit for this job because you:
- Have 7-10 years of finance and accounting experience with accredited accountant qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA, RA) or equivalent experience and a strong understanding of SaaS business models.
- Bring in-house accounting experience, ideally from working at startups or scale-ups, where you've built or owned financial controller processes.
- Possess functional knowledge of NL and UK financial and tax compliance requirements.
- Are experienced in multi-entity financial management, including cross-border operations and currency management.
Bonus points if you:
- Have overseen or participated in an ERP migration, moving from one accounting software vendor to another.
- Are familiar with US financial and tax compliance.
