Your Role:

As a Backend Developer at Hadrian, you will be an integral part of our development team, working primarily with .NET technologies to implement and maintain features in our backend system. You’ll have the opportunity to develop small to medium-sized features end-to-end while continuously improving the development experience (DX) within our team. In this role, you’ll be encouraged to proactively identify areas of tech debt, propose solutions, and contribute to our evolving tech stack.

 

What you will do as a Backend Developer at Hadrian:

  • Feature Implementation: Develop and implement small to medium features in our .NET backend, taking them from design to deployment. This includes initial code design, refinement, and documentation of decisions made.
  • Development Experience (DX) Improvement: Actively observe and improve our development experience by identifying areas of tech debt, writing detailed tickets, and proposing solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate and occasionally lead team meetings, such as refinements, retrospectives, and guild sessions, to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Proactive Upskilling: Stay current with our tech stack and patterns, identifying areas for personal upskilling and proactively seeking learning opportunities.
  • Independent Work Attitude: Work independently within our remote-first environment while knowing when to ask for help or provide support to others.
  • Feedback Culture: Accept feedback graciously and provide constructive feedback to your peers, contributing to a positive and productive team environment.


You are fit for this job because you:

  • Have 3+ years of relevant experience working with .NET, C#, Entity Framework (or similar ORMs), and SQL (Postgres preferred).
  • Are familiar with unit and end-to-end testing methodologies.
  • Are comfortable working with event-driven microservices and have a desire to grow your knowledge in cloud software development.
  • Have the potential and enthusiasm to grow beyond your current skill set, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Are proactive and independent in a remote-first work environment.
  • Have strong communication skills and can express ideas clearly, whether in code reviews or team meetings.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience or interest in learning Golang.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based software development.
  • Full-stack experience, particularly with ReactJS and NextJS.
  • Experience working in another SaaS product environment.
